In one of the Die Hard movies (the third, I believe), John McClane (Bruce Wilis) is forced to walk through Harlem with a sandwich board that reads "I hate nī**ers".
It puzzles me why some people would want to do the cyber-equivalent of that.
What do you expect us to say? "Yeah, we're all a bunch of idiots that love a good self-fulfilling prophecy in the morning."?
Straight razor shaving is not for everyone. It doesn't make you less a man, if it's not for you. Dismissing something you don't get, does.
Bart.
I agree the tone of the original post sounds like a troll to me too.
However in the chance its not I would just say straight shaving ain't for everybody and really isn't for most so your just not one of the chosen few.
After my laser treatments to remove my beard I really don't need to shave but I still do,
Does shaving at 3 times the speed of sound help the hair to stand taller?
OFF COURSE IF YOUR IN A RUSH I WOULD USE A DISPOSABLE OR SAFETY RAZOR THAN A STRAIGHT. I DID USE MACH 3 FOR 10 YEARS. BUT LAST 8 MONTHS I SWITHCED TO SAFETY RAZOR AND THE DIFFERENCE IS LIKE 70 % IMPROVEMENT OVER DISPOSABLE (PLUS LIKE 30 BUCKS A MONTH IN MACH 3 SAVINGS) THS SHAVE LAST LONGER. THE STRAIGHT I BEEN USING FOR 3 SHAVEDS AND IM GETTING BETTER EVERY SHAVE. IT TAKES TIME FOR YOUR SKIN TO ADJUST TO RAZOR AND TECHNIQUE...PLUS YOU SHOUILD INVEST IN BADGER BRUSH AND USE GOOSD QUALITY SHAVE SOAP OR CREAM, IT LAST LONGER THAN THAT CHEAP SPRAY CRAP. LASTLY TAKE TIME (LIKE 20 MINUTES) TO LATHER UP WET, THEN SHAVE....LIKE ALL GOOD THINGS IN LIFE, GIVE IT TIME
Get out! Ban this guy NOW before his heresy spreads! ;)

Adam.
That's not surprising.
Depends on how fast you learn but it may take more than couple of months to get fast smooth shaves with a straight.
I'm not trying to be abusive either but you're not actually using a straight razor if you use disposable blades.
although i don't agree with this guys opinions as i really do enjoy shaving with a straight, it does remind me of a friend of mine. he always has to play the devils advocate, if you have an opinion he will challenge it and for no other reason then to get you thinking about your own opinion. it can be very annoying at times but can also be constructive i guess.
i will be interested to see if he posts again.
BTW, i'm not defending anyone as it really makes no sense to me to post this in a forum like ours, but i just can't condemn anyone as long as they seem to be stating an honest opinion.
