I'm sure there are plenty of stories like this, but we had a friend over this weekend. And he found my razors and decided to strop them. To make a long story short, now my razors are dull (hopefully I can get it shave ready with a good stropping) and I have a lovely gash in my strop. So when you have guests, hide your razors.

That is unforgiveable! Hope you gave him a real beating.(Unless he was retarded, and IMO he would have to be to do something like that..)
It looks like you could save it with some sanding tough...

Strops can double as a belt for spanking in situations just like this. Sounds like your friend has the sense of a 6 year old, so perhaps treat him like one...

How about inviting your friend to come over for some dimbulb stew? When he arrives ask him to pick out some good looking commestibles from the box of rocks in the pantry.

From the first pic of the gash it looks too deep to be sanded out. There was a thread a while ago with suggestions and materials/type of glue to fill in gashes like that. I don't think stropping over it is going to hurt anything either.
Did your friend own up to this, or were you surprised the next time you went to go shaving? I would have him buy you a new strop. That's sort of like stealing someone's car and running out of gas. Not the end of the line for the object, but surely a pain in the butt.
