    Default arrr hide your razor!

I'm sure there are plenty of stories like this, but we had a friend over this weekend. And he found my razors and decided to strop them. To make a long story short, now my razors are dull (hopefully I can get it shave ready with a good stropping) and I have a lovely gash in my strop. So when you have guests, hide your razors.

btw do you think I can sand that out?

wth.. Your friend decided to just start playing with the extremely sharp expensive objects in your bathroom?

    That deserves a beating.

...or make him shave with him so he learns the error of his ways.

That is unforgiveable! Hope you gave him a real beating.(Unless he was retarded, and IMO he would have to be to do something like that..)

It looks like you could save it with some sanding tough...
    Good luck!

Strops can double as a belt for spanking in situations just like this. Sounds like your friend has the sense of a 6 year old, so perhaps treat him like one...

    std,

How about inviting your friend to come over for some dimbulb stew? When he arrives ask him to pick out some good looking commestibles from the box of rocks in the pantry.

From the first pic of the gash it looks too deep to be sanded out. There was a thread a while ago with suggestions and materials/type of glue to fill in gashes like that. I don't think stropping over it is going to hurt anything either.

Did your friend own up to this, or were you surprised the next time you went to go shaving? I would have him buy you a new strop. That's sort of like stealing someone's car and running out of gas. Not the end of the line for the object, but surely a pain in the butt.

    surprised next time I shaved!
The problem is I've broken his stuff before (we used to be roommates) so monetarily we're probably somewhat even... Even know this is negligence mine was an accident.

The idea is to get it close to flat or lower than the rest of the strop right? So there is a small ridge, so I'll probably sand that ridge down and strop over it for the time being. What grit should I use?
(I can't make him pay up) it would be like the US making Germany pay reparations after WW1.
