Default Happy birthday to me - sort of

Today’s my birthday, but I have to wait a while before I can get my present.

I sent a razor to max at the beginning of the year. I doubt that he’s even had time to begin work on it, but I hope that maybe in another month or two that I’ll have a nicely restored Tally Ho in hand for my morning shave. I’ve already set up a spot for it next to the Wonderedge that Glen restored.

I gave Max full creative license, though I admit that I said it was intended to be a workhorse and not a showpiece. With all of the beautiful work that he shows in the forums there’s no telling what may show up on the doorstep, but I’m sure that it will be a work of art, even if it is supposed to be a daily driver.

If you see this post, Max, thank you in advance for your work. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas to arrive.

Got a message from Max that the razor is done, and I sent payment to him this morning.

The pics were beautiful, as always. I'm amazed that the razor he's returning is the same one I sent him. In his words, it looked like a dog had chewed on it a bit. Not any more!

I'll let Max have the pleasure of posting pics of the restore. I asked for a workhorse instead of a showpiece and he gave me both. Clean, simple lines on a very old wedge.

Paraphrasing Yoda, "When [150+] years you reach, look as good, you will not."

    Thanks, Max!

I don't think Max took pics of the condition of the razor when he received it, so I dug around and founds some shots I took when I first received it:

Pretty pitiful, huh? The restoration pics are worth the wait.

Pics are now up in the Custom Builts and Restorations thread!
