Default Today I became a MAN!!!

Well gents I just finished my very first Shave (capital S) and due to my impatience I did not heed some advice but, nevertheless despite my foolishness I very much enjoyed it.

First off my sideburns have NEVER been this smooth. Second the little hairs near the bottom of my nose have never been so easy to remove (even with the back blade on the fusion). Thirdly I loved using the blade!!!!

Ok now for my stumblings, I just barely broke skin at the base of my ear (didn't realize until much later when it bled (SHARP BLADE LYNN, Thanks)) and I managed to get a heavy bit of irritation when attempting to go ATG on my jaw line, but its smooth.

All around I loved it and I look forward until tomorrow when I go for round 2!

may want to give it a day or two if you're really irritated. Also, going ATG at this stage of the game may be biting off a bit much. Try a WTG pass, then an across the grain (XTG). Most guys here don't do ATG all that often as it tends to be rough on your face.
Congrats, and welcome to your Manhood (capital M)!

Yeah I shaved twice first WTG, lathered, and then ATG.

I planned on just doing the sideburns but I was feeling comfortable and I was having fun so I just kept going.

Congrats on your first shave with a straight! I have to agree though, now that you have that initial excitable first shave out of the way, take your time now and do small increments as far as the whole process goes. I don't see any reason not to shave your whole face as long as you're comfortable. Remember, be careful, your blade will let you know who is boss.

Congratulations on your first straight razor shave! I wonder if Lynn uses a coticule to finish on?

nice work and grats on pursuing the path of a gentleman! when i first did ATG i just did my sideburns and avioded neck chin lip and jawline and i feel that really paid off on my next shave when i did jaw chin and lip. next step is ATG for the neck and i found that the steps really work great and get you really comfortable (but not ****y) with the blade. keep it up

edit: the blood stops a little with the practice i noticed, and some styptic =)
