First off, this is a wonderful site/forum with loads of information and answers to questions I haven’t even had yet. I had no idea straight shaving had such a dedicated following. Having said that, I’m still new and have much to learn.

I switched to a shavette (saw one guy in the forum likening it to a can opener…exactly!) about six months ago and haven’t looked back. I was tired of getting kicked in the beanbag by Gillette and decided to see through a curiosity spawned a few years earlier regarding straight razor shaving. Also, the revision of a previously mundane task by incorporating a seemingly lost art was exactly what I needed to rekindle the excitement not felt since adolescence.

So now I’m six months in and want to move up to a real straight razor. I found a dealer on the web (http://www.youngrazorcompany.com) and bought almost exclusively from him. I was wondering if anyone has had any previous experience with this dealer or could comment on his product (specifically, I purchased the all inclusive “special offer” including the Young straight razor). I liked the idea of supporting what seemed a Mom-and-Pop type enterprise but sometimes I can be a little naïve regarding people's integrity. Anyways, I’m curious about the quality of this razor and am looking to the forum for guidance. Granted, I’m already fiscally committed but a little hindsight knowledge never hurts. Thanks guys.
