So the sharp end of the blade sticks out past the scales? Are those the original scales? Was there a 3rd pin that was removed?
I hope the cut wasn't too deep.

If the cut isn't too deep, just clean it with alcohol and put some Nuskin or clear nail polish over the cut.. That way it will be protected and unlike a bandaid it won't get soaked when you wash your hands.

Thanked: 0Thanks for the concern guys the cut is like a papercut on the side of my thumb more annoying than painful.
It's this razor here http://www.billysblades.com/EL.Razors/1754.htm the blade doesn't stick out but it is close.

Poor Baby
The good thing is that straight razor cuts usually heal quickly and perfectly. Just keep it clean. Rubbing Alcohol and Hydrogen Peroxide are great in cases where you need to sterilise and don't have anything 'softer' to use, but they actually cause a mild chemical burn and can intensify the damage and even retard healing. I'd say just leave it alone (assuming the blade was clean and you don't need a tetanus shot) and if you happen to notice any redness and swelling associated with infection, give it a warm saline bath for about 20 min. a few times a day. that works better than most commercial products believe it or not.

I was shaving the F.I.L., walking back to the chair after the 2nd strop, had it hooked around my index finger when it slipped off (wasn't paying attention). I made a quick grab for it. my reflexes were really fast but my aim sucked. My thumb closed on the heel of the blade. sunk 1/4 inch in. Ouch.
After a good washing, the wife butterflied it. there's going to be a hairline scar once it finishes closing.

Thanked: 4I can't believe that no one has asked the crucial question: Was the razor hurt in any way?
