Thanked: 43Looking for 2 (or 3) razors to sharpen....
As most of you know, I'm a Shapton guy, but due to all the noise being made about the Naniwas recently, I felt it necessary to purchase my own set to find out what all this is about for myself. (Thanks SRD!)
Since I lack the sheer numbers of razors it takes to do a comparison, I was wondering if I could get a volunteer or three who have 2 razors (preferably the same make/model, but any two will do) that they are quite familiar with, and would like to compare the results of the Shapton and Naniwas. (If you have 3 razors to spare, I'll even use the Shapton pros!)
This experiment serves two purposes for me. The first is that I know I can sharpen my razors, but I haven't tried sharpening someone else's yet (no, I won't kill your razor). Two, it will give me and the owner of the razors a good test in order to start forming an answer to the Naniwa/Shapton debate.
This service is free, and I only ask the owner pay for return shipping.
If you're interested, PM me, and I will provide my mailing address.
Thanks!
EDIT: This is just for a few interested and curious takers, and is not intended to be used in place of a honemiester service.Last edited by jendeindustries; 08-10-2009 at 12:04 AM.
