Where Do We Put the Scams?

Sorry 'bout the title - not enough room in that box to fully title this. The real title should read something like - In what section should I start a thread where we can publicly relay the scams some unscrupulous people try to pull here and on other boards in order to get good razors?

As background, I *think* someone is trying to get one of my razors that I had up for sale here but they're trying to do it without paying (no it's not any of you here that post regularly in SRP). I say that "I think it's being done" because it just doesn't seem legitimate, but some other parts of the transaction appear OK. It's just really strange and I don't want to let this particular cat out of the bag just yet. If its a scam, its an "almost" effective one! Very clever. As soon as I figure out what the scam is I'll post the details here so that everyone can avoid getting burned, and hopefully shut down any games being played.

So, for you guys that also sell razors or hones from time to time here, can you post some of your experiences where people tried to essentially steal from you that you've caught, or maybe even some details from a scam that's burned you or someone else? I sure hope this current pair of attempts (yup seems like 2 happening) turn out to be just coincidental with each other, or, that I've just become too paranoid about it all.

So there's the background such as it is. Where should this thread get started and maintained? Seems like a good idea to keep a thread going where we can stay a step ahead of any scammers. Did you ever think you'd see the day where people try to essentially steal a straight razor? I guess it goes to show the value razors have taken on.

No, this is a no-no. We do not want threads devoted to bashing vendors or sellers. Too often it can turn into a a place for people to get even with someone they don't like and then you have to give equal time to the seller. If your wrong and its someone who has a business he depends on for income that can be a problem.

All of us are intelligent people and hopefully we will recognize a scam when we see it.

If you think someone is really trying to steal from you contact a mod and we'll investigate.
