Default Got my new razor yesterday!

My wife asked me a while back what I wanted for Christmas and my answer was a new razor. I got a package from Classic Shaving yesterday that contained my new Dovo 6/8 Bismarck razor! After touching up the blade with my 1.0 and .5 diamond pastes and stropping, I shaved and got a great job with NO NICKS. This was a new feeling coming off my Dovo Shavette, which seemed to always get me at least a couple of times. The 6/8 size feels great in my hand and is much easier to handle than a lighter razor. I'm definitely looking forward to more great shaves with this beauty in the future!

Way to go Smokey! A real straight does shave better than a shavette. I had a cheap, Fromm knockoff with Personna blades that nicked the hell out of me at first. Probably looked like someone turned a mad kitty loose on my face because of burrs left on the blades during the grinding process. Not sure if momma will spring for the SRP TI this year or not.

Yes, I got the red one and is it ever beautiful! Besides the red scales and contrasting inlays it has all the gold plating and etching on the blade. I took the paddle strop to it with 1.0 diamond paste on one side and .5 on the other, then stropped it 50 times on my leather hanging strop and it was popping hairs when I tested it. Shaved like a dream, too. Having a real blade really makes a difference, the feel is entirely different from the Shavette and it cuts down on nicks a bunch. Happy? You bet!

Cool! I'm planning on getting that razor, too.
