    Default Henckels razors at Nordstroms?

    Hi folks,
Just saw this link to a Henckels razorr at Nordstroms, I haven't seen these in person, but if Henckels is back at it (US marketing of their razors) then its about time IMHO.
    Here's the link:

Anyone seen one of these in person? Mine all say zwillingswerk AG J A Henckels; apparently these "new" ones are being marketed as "Zwilling Pour Homme" or some cologne-y sounding thing like that. Still, if its a Henckels......

We were discussing this on another thread a little while ago. Those razors are available through "tweezer man" as well haha... go figure!

i was in a mall last week with a Nordstroms. I was near the shaving stuff and I didn't see the straight. I was looking for it but they only had brushes and handles for the MIII.

    Errr....
don't I feel dumb. I've even posted in that thread. The razor DOES look different (the "twin" logo being parallel to the blade, instead of right side up, is one...) I didn't notice that it said Friodur on it, will have to look again.
I have quite a few Henckels razors, and 3, maybe 4 Friodurs (I have SO many razors, I need to sell off some of them just to maintain a level of sanity...)and all of them are pretty awesome razors.
I do like the packaging, I wonder if Henckels is making them (they DO have the capability, I would think?)
For the prices being asked, though, I'll wait a bit (currently budgets are tight..)

I had heard that they were out of the str8 business only in this country. Maybe Nordstrom has some kind of imporatation deal.

Friends, I am out the door in 20 minutes headed to Nordstrom's here in DC. I will let you know what I find. THEY DO have a nice straight listed in the United States part of their website, ya know...

One other, anyone else hear this?
I heard from an "old timer" that Henckels had a hard time in the late 40's and early 50's since their "politics" in WW2 made them a "politically incorrect" company to deal with. Seems the rumor has it they made a large percentage of "you-know-whos" dress daggers, and were the choice manufacturer at the time.

Anyway, I'm off to Nordstroms at Tysons Corner, and hope to return and regale you with a fine adventure of buying a brand new Henckels!!

    Default I tried in CT

I went into the Nrodstrom's in Farmington, CT to look for one - the clerk looked at me like I had three heads. It was in their brochure that was sitting on the counter but they could not find one anywhere.
Probably for the best - I can't sharpen them worth a damn anyway.

    Default Ditto NJ

I tried the Nordsrom in Freehold, NJ. After some explaining (I'm looking for a straight razor. No, not the ivory plastic Mach III handle, a straight razor. Oh, these are all you have? *insert 'shaving with a straight razor motion* An old-fashioned razor, like the barber uses... one of those.) she understood what I meant... but they still didn't have it.

Apparently, and unsurprisingly, they carry some different items online from what's in the stores. Or so the lady said.

Incidentally, they had all the other Henckel stuff, even that weird pumice thing, on the counter. Guess the razors are too dangerous or something.
