Greetings,
Over the past couple of days I have been doing
what I will call a dress rehearsal for the actual
shave.
I have this cheap Razor that I bought about 15 years ago.
The thing was made in China. What I have been doing is
holding it in my hand and pretending that I am getting ready
to shave. I noticed that Lynn switches to the left hand
when he went to shave the left side of his face. This
will work better for me I believe. I can't seem to position
it just right for the left side when held in my right hand.
Though I may be wrong I fel this is going to help me for
when the real razor that I am buying from Lynn arrives
and I attempt my first shave.
I have also practiced stropping with this razor on a belt on
a few occasions and the belt survived. Though not shave ready
by a long shot, it is still quite sharp.
Perhaps this was not money wasted ($15.00) but a useful training
tool.
Perhaps I can learn to hone with it-to an extent. The thing appears
to be stainless and is 6/8 inches wide. I would say that it is full
hollow ground.
Let me know your thoughts either negative or positive. Perhaps
by the time the real razor and strop arrive I will not be a total
novice.
Regards,
Terry
