I have always heard that big brother is watching, now it seems as though others are watching too.
Capitalism is what made our country strong and it is capitalism that is dragging our country down. I think it is called GREED.
Another reason to use a straight. I refuse to carry a cell phone except at work for the same reason, as long as it's turned on it emits a signal, to keep in touch with the nearest cell tower, that can be used to determine your location. GPS locators have also been required in cells sence 1999. The US government also has a program called Echelon that monitors all forms of electronic communications, ostensibly to pick up terrorists plans. It picks up on key words, then records the call for later evaluation. Yes I'm a conspiracy nut, but both of these have been prooven.
I hate to burst your bubble, but Echelon is old news. That story was hot about three or four years ago. The stuff they have now makes Echelon look like high-school programming project.
I could dive into the conspiracy of FCC rulings, thinning out competitors to the baby bells so there's less headache to monitor all phone calls period. I have some stuff on this spectrum that will make you cringe.

Not by too much in some cases. In a prior life I worked on the fringes of classified stuff... in the mid-80's I saw satellite photos that were sufficiently detailed that I could read license plate numbers on cars. I was told that such photos existed for the entire surface of the earth. Now, if that was what people with no clearance could see, imagine what the secret stuff must have been capable of.Quote:
