I have always heard that big brother is watching, now it seems as though others are watching too.

Capitalism is what made our country strong and it is capitalism that is dragging our country down. I think it is called GREED.

Another reason to use a straight. I refuse to carry a cell phone except at work for the same reason, as long as it's turned on it emits a signal, to keep in touch with the nearest cell tower, that can be used to determine your location. GPS locators have also been required in cells sence 1999. The US government also has a program called Echelon that monitors all forms of electronic communications, ostensibly to pick up terrorists plans. It picks up on key words, then records the call for later evaluation. Yes I'm a conspiracy nut, but both of these have been prooven.

I hate to burst your bubble, but Echelon is old news. That story was hot about three or four years ago. The stuff they have now makes Echelon look like high-school programming project.

I could dive into the conspiracy of FCC rulings, thinning out competitors to the baby bells so there's less headache to monitor all phone calls period. I have some stuff on this spectrum that will make you cringe.

I don't mean to alarm you, but Capital IS Big Brother in case you hadn't noticed.
I've heard it refered to as corporatism.

That's about how long ago I heard about it. I guess I'm behind the times as far as conspiracies go. Orwell was just a little off with his date of 1984.

Not by too much in some cases. In a prior life I worked on the fringes of classified stuff... in the mid-80's I saw satellite photos that were sufficiently detailed that I could read license plate numbers on cars. I was told that such photos existed for the entire surface of the earth. Now, if that was what people with no clearance could see, imagine what the secret stuff must have been capable of.

As far as the RFID tags go they've been commercially available for about 15 years... of course, originally they were considerably larger in size and somewhat expensive. The early uses included vehicle ID at toll-booths for drive-thru toll collection and vehicle security entrance/exit recording in places like chemical plants where trucks and trailers must have a valid safety certification before they are allowed to haul dangerous products, etc. The first ones I saw were intended to be bolted to a truck bumper. They are popularly used today (now that they're almost microscopic in size) by stores for inventory purposes (eg, the Gillette reference)... in fact, I believe I read somewhere Wal Mart was gearing up to mandate that all of their vendors include such chips in their packaging. In theory, an employee (or robot) just walks down the isle of the store with a device which emits a signal that causes all the little chips to respond, enabling a count to be taken. Or, on a receiving dock a pallet is scanned as it is unloaded from a truck and the quantity of product is recorded. I guess they could be used for spying on citizens too, but that's not what their popular use is intended to be. (So, if you are a conspiracy theorist I guess you better start worrying what else might be in that flu shot you got besides serum, LOL )
