Shave in New York

Hi,

I'm visiting New York and staying with a friend in Manhatten and wondered if anyone knew of a place where we could get a straight razor shave in NY City?

You might try the art of shaving, they are in Manhattan, midtown somewhere

I don't think they actually perform shaves there, just sell shaving products.

They do start shaves at The Art of Shaving on Madison Avenue 47 48 or 49 I am not sure of the cross street.
Mind you it is not cheap!!!!

SAVE your money...1st they use pre shave oil yuk! the hot towels are great but the shave is with str8 with disposable blade because of health reg...not near as comfortable as stroped shave....

Yikes! For fifty dollars I get a haircut and a shave that includes something like a mini facial the whole process lasts about 1.5 hours. Of course, its not in NYC, but for throw-away blades, that seems awfully high, and I agree that you wont be very happy with the blade compared to your best razors, although the pampering is nice, even though I feel silly being pampered...
