    Default It's Official

Alright guys it is official. My razor is sharp and I am a straight shaver. Also officially I nicked my self several times. Razor 3 monkey 0. I did however get a fairly close shave. Just as close as any other razor I have ever used. So thanks to all you guys for your support and confidence, knowledge and intellect. Oh by the way don't use gillette cool wave after a shave! Its like an inferno not a cool wave.

    Thumbs up Huzza!

Well done there, lad. Don't worry about the nicks.
Keep working at it and one day soon the monkey will win!

I disagree the monkey never wins just gets lucky sometimes.

    This monkey still nicks himself.

Rich I agree. Until the monkey hits the razor on the faucet and puts a nick in the razor. Then the monkey has to learn something new.

I haven't done it yet. But seeing as how I got a razor off of eboy with 1/8 vertical gash in the blade and took it out, after hours of slaving I might add. I really dont think it is a problem unless you don't have the patients and time.

I've not yet witnessed an agrument between my razor and faucet. However, I have learned the value of a Norton combination 220/1000 stone. I found out that it is possible to remove a nick 2 1/2 times the bevel (on the 220 side) recreate a bevel on the 1000, then move on to the 4/8K stone and have a shave ready razor in under two hours.
I'm still careful, but no longer paranoid about nicking a razor.

BTW--I didn't put the ding in that razor, it showed up that way (e-bay, go figure ).
