Thread: E-Bay: Does this strike you as fishy?

Hello all,

Saw these Wade & Butcher's on E-bay. They look suspiciously like the same razor… Actually, the same picture of the same razor.

The description is the same too. Interesting

There's something goofy going on. One is being sold from "utah". One from "pennsylvania". One sold yesterday and the other goes up for auction today. Different sellers but same pictures and text..... Someone's doing something that isn't according to the rules of Hoyle.

Maybe the guy in PA bought it from the other one, got a good deal, then immediately re-listed it, thinking to make a profit? Co-opted the earlier ad.

I also sent him one and he thanked me for it. Hopefully there were more warnings that luvshavin got. It makes it kinda nice when someone, anyone, is covering your back.

Also... I just got another response back from the seller.

"i will change the pictures to the actual ones as soon as i can thanks for your concern"


If he/she does, that would be good...

I reported it to eBay. We'll see if they do anything about it.

I buy so many razors, I did not notice these three auctions I won from the same seller. Needless to say, I have not received any one of the razors.

Actually a pretty common occurrance on Eboy among the less honest amongst us is to swipe peoples fotos and use them in their own auctions. If your lucky you get the item and it just looks different. If your unlucky you get swindled

Yes, that's him/her.

I asked the seller this question.
"Would you like to explain why this razor is identical to the one that was sold by someone else? Including the pictures and the description?"


The seller answered, "am sorry i have the exact same razor identical, am i not allowed to do that? let me know please."

I responded this way...
"Aside from the fact that it is the intellectual property of the other seller, how would you feel as a buyer? Would everything look above board to you?

I just got soaked by a seller who used the same pic for three separate auctions. I won all of them, and I have yet to receive a single razor.

You say you have the same razor? No, you don't. It is either better or worse than the one you stole the pictures from.

Business marketing and believing in honesty. Come on... Seeing the other one sold for $77 had nothing to do with it? Start your trek down the path of honesty by taking your own pics.

By the way, the circle of guys who buy most of the razors have seen how you have listed this ghost razor."


I also told eBay to check into this possible fraudulent auction. Liars and thieves really piss me off!
