Of course, if he needs a complate shaving kit, then I would look at the sets available at either SRD or VB LLC--both vendors who advertise here. They don't carry anything over 6/8 in razors, except for SRD which carries a Boker. "The Celebrated," but it is outside of your budget.

Here is a large square point by Revisor: Revisor "Revisor Extra" 8/8. Lynn recently reviewed it, and I think I'll contribute a review shortly, too :) http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...rn-scales.html. The prices include 20% VAT which do not apply to the US if I recall correctly. Either way, these razors are fantastic, and reasonably rare - I would be most pleased if I were given one of them.

I agree wholeheartedly with Robin...Revisors are excellent shavers and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. They are well worth the investment.

Thank you very much for the input and I will defiantly keep this in my top 3. It looks beautiful and I am sure he will love it. It's just the size and style he was talking about before he joined the Army.

That Revisor is really nice, but I really like the Henckels old stocks, you can get one for as little as $120. I really like theseShow All Razors : Shaving Shop - luxury classic wet shaving products - straight razors they are very well made razors for the price.

One of the ones I was looking at was the 6/8 Wacker "All Around - Master"
Spanish Point - Gabon ebony. I think it's sharp looking.:)

Quite frankly, you can't go wrong with either the Wacker or the Henckels NOS Friodur. The choice is yours. I own one of each. Both of them are great shavers.

BTW...Whichever razor you decide to get for your husband, try to purchase something for him to store the razor in when he is traveling and/or on duty. You can get a toothbrush holder from Wal-Mart to store the 6/8 in. Just put some tissue paper in the end to cushion the razor. The 8/8 may require you to purchase a leather sheath or something similar for him to store the razor in.
