Lost Razors?
Howdy all,
So I've been having some issues on my mind that are pretty upsetting.
So as we all know straight razors get dull. And to make them perfect for shaving again we send them to get honed and we get them back and have our perfect shaves again.
But alas it seems all is not perfect in my world.
I sent 5 razors to get honed by someone who I had seen on these shaving forums. We talked and worked out an agreement for prices and what not.
But here's where the problems start. When I shipped the product and received confirmation that the packaged arrived safely I sent them a email to just make sure they got it, because sometimes mistakes happen with addresses and what not. But there was no response.
I figured he was busy so all was ok. But it's been a month now and no emails back from my honemeister, or any sort of aknowledgemt at all.
Now what do you guys think I should do? I mean it's only been a month but there wasn't even any contact from him.
Do I just consider my razors lost now?Shaving_story on Instagram

I guess you can take solace in the fact that you wanted to get rid of some razors to make room for another Grelot...
Actually, I ccan only imagine how upsetting this is. We all rely upon one another's professionalism here on the site, but your unfortunate experience contains a warning we should all heed. I don't know how to prevent such dishonesty, but you could always file a complaint with the recipient's police department...

I'm not giving up hope and don't want to accuse them of anything. Just hope some sort of response gets to me soon.

You can
1. send them another e-mail and see if they answer
2. attempt to look up their address and phone number if you dont
already have it at anywho.com
3. contact the police department in the town they live in as Legal
suggested.
Those razors are your property and if you sent him or her payment then that just adds to the insult or charges that you may file against them. DON'T be afraid to stand up for your rights and your property. If they tricked you then they are at fault and not you. They are the bad person and not you.

I don't want to be quick to judge.
I'm just worried that's all. I hope all is ok and he's just dealing with stuff that would keep him from contacting me.

This is pretty bad, or could get pretty bad. Give them the benefit of the doubt and email and call to see what's going on. If you don't get either within a set period of time call them out here and see if that happens to work. For goodness sakes, I understand falling behind in your work, but losing good communication will most certainly lose them their business in the future as nearly everyone here bases what they do on their reputation.

That is truly unfortunate. Have you attempted to pm them here at SRP?
If they still refuse to reply and give you an update on your razors, I would not hesitate to track them down via Intelius or some other search engine, identify their hometown and telephone number and give them a call. If there is no response, then file a police report with the RCMP. If the individual in question has indeed stolen your razors, they have committed internet fraud and deserve to be punished."Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." I'm closing this thread. Please try all avenues with your honmeister. If the transaction didn't involve this site resolve it at the other site. There are many reasons why guys are tardy in contacting. I've seen too many posts like this were it winds up the guy had some personal emergency and the OP felt like a real fool.

Basil,
I would certainly contact the police on this matter. Theft or not, it will put this persons butt in gear.
However, not to be a jerk here... but to give the hone guy the benefit of the doubt, he very well could have been in an accident that put him in ICU and his family may not have his login info to inform you let alone know about it. Other things happen such as natural disasters that could ruin someone's home and all is lost and the gent is so devastated he can't come to grips to contact you.
Now that I write this, I will be giving my lady my login info just in case of such an emergency so she can view my PMs and know what I have that belongs to someone else.
Heck, I better pay Dylan for this pipe, for all I know a bus could park it in my front door and Dylan may never see his pipe again.
Oh God, I need a Xanax now.
