When I repin razors I've been buying the pins from Classic Shaving, but at $13 a pair it getting a little expensive. I've come across a couple of alternatives I think would work, But thought I'd ask for advise first. What do you guys use for pins?

OOps. about the time I pressed enter I realized I should have posted this in the restoration forum. My bad.
What the hell. It is the general forum :D
Some of the ways to pin your razors are with 1/16" rod stock of either brass or nickel silver or with 1/16" brass threaded rods and small brass nuts. Some people use bead spacers and I've got some of those, too, but I haven't used them yet. Many are just a bit too gaudy for my tastes.
1/16 brass rod from any hobby or hardare store. And, a size #0 (.12 OD) brass washer from www.microfasteners.com
A hundred washers is about $4
Whle you're at it, check this out.
Well, I bought some brass nails, with the head neatly finished as a pin washer, not the typical flat nail head. That way I'll have to pin washer on one end only. I think DOVO pins also came pressed at one end??

That's great, I'd like to play around with putting on new handles and now i have a source for hardware.
is there anyway you can do something different with the pinning.....like tricking out a car?
Take a look at Bill's and Vlad's pins, they make art out of it...

People can do anything they want, Obsession. Some things just work better than others but you never know till you try.
