I'm trying to decide between a 5/8 TI Evide Sonnant from Classic Shaving and NOS 5/8 Revisor that's from a reputable source.
I'd like to know which you'd choose and why.
Thanks,
Tom

Whichever was cheaper to get and "shave ready"
I would probably get the Revisor. I believe they are a little more difficult to come by than the TI's, which are excellent razors too. My restored Revisor is one of the best shavers I own.
I think that's like having to choose between a Rolls-Royce and a Bentley. :hmmm:
I got a 5/8 NOS Revisor from Mr_Barence on ebay. Awesome razor with super fast delivery.

Another thing to consider is your honing ability. From what I've read the Evide is a real dog to hone. Lynn, yes the Lynn, said that in not so many words.
So unless you are very good at honing (BTW, word on these forums is that Lynn is very, very good at honing :D) or plan to have it honed by someone else for the foreseeable future I would pass on the Evide and go for the Revisor.
You can always pickup the TI later which is not the case for the NOS Revisor.
Get whichever comes in a 6/8. You'll thank yourself for doing so.

Xman,
I have a 7/8 Friodur from John Crowley so I'm trying to add a second razor that will be noticeably different - I'm not sure that a 6/8 is different enough from the 7/8 to justify as my next razor - let me know your thoughts!
BTW, I'm having a dog of a time trying to shave my upper lip and chin with the 7/8 - hence the interest in something smaller.

Get the TI. They are known as the best new manufacturers today. That, plus their lead hardening proces, and you got yourself a realy nice razor. On the other hand, if you plan to expand your collection in the future, get the Revisor, since that is NOS, and they might be gone soon...

You can always get a TI get the Revisor.
