Default shaving ones legs and such

OK I am getting my friend into DE/straight shaving, she is trying to save money on razors and have some fun. We bought some good cheap DE razors off of eBay and will start the process when they arrive.... Now I can show her how to shave her face, but that is not where she is shaving.. I need to know techniques for shaving legs.. and.. um Lady Bits.. I also need to know what type of products she will need.

Her skin is not oily (pretty normal actually) and when she shaves now she uses a Venus razor and body wash as cream. Do we need a pre-shave oil? do we need to get her a brush and cream? Does she need to get a balm or any special lotion? any help would be greatly appreciated on this subject.

    Thanks

She can start out using what she already has, but getting her a brush and cream is a good thing. Some don't like to bother with it so even if you get her a shaving soap that she can lather up with is a step in the right direction. Pre-shave oils are not needed and many of us just use a lotion or body butter for afterwards.

Hope this helps, feel free to pm me with questions also.

If your friend hasn't used a DE before, make sure she knows *not* to bear down (some women use lots of pressure with disposables, at least on their legs). A light touch is best - it's all about the angle, like with a straight razor.

and I will also add not to shave too fast either. My olderst daughter used my DE in the shower the other day and looks like she tried to filet herself. I am guessing she is used to speed shaving or something and the bite she took out of her leg must have been two and a half inches long
