    Default Flying with your straights

In a few weeks I will be going on an extended vacation. This got me thinking....have any of you experienced any issues with putting your shaving gear in checked luggage? My worst fear is that a baggage handler or "security personnel" will search my bag and remove my precious cargo (mainly my razors). If anyone has travel tips...it would be much appreciated. Thanks gents.

    Here you go.

The Wiki has lots and lots of good info.

I have gone all the way to Germany and Japan and never had an issue..I put it in a pocket that is attached to a Paddle strop to keep it from getting tossed around...THe only thing I worried about was losing luggage or having a maid kipe my razor....So I started carrying a cheaper one when traveling...And of course, check your bag...I think that goes without saying these days..

I am a pilot and fly for private companies and persons. When I must travel by airline I check bags, inside the checked bag is a Plano (TSA approved firearm transport) case. Inside that case are two firearms with spare mags, and two razors in their own cut outs for security. Never had a problem with them arriving in tact and undisturbed.

I fly from Canada to the states every year. I always bring my razor, and I just keep it in my grip/shave kit in my checked luggage. No problems yet.

Yea I know a guy who always shaves after doing some of the white powder and he says he can fly real high with those razors.

Seriously though you can't take them with a carry on and risk theft in your luggage so if you take them get some dogs that shave great but look bad.

I just flew to Hawaii from Canada and had no problems with them in the checked bags. Of course, I did not pack my best razors, I only packed those that I was willing to lose. Since I have a variety of razors, this was not difficult for me.

I do take care to pack them in the middle of my checked bag so that they have e most protection possible.
