After reading all the conversations about grinds and blade size relative to shave quality (for someone with a heavy beard) I started looking for a small wedge to test the theory that it is the grind that matters not the blade width.

My favorite shavers upto this point have been a W&B 13/16 single concave ground wedge and a Bigelow & Dowse 6/8 full hollow honed by Lynn.

Then I found this puppy...

Just got it last night...4/8 single concave wedge grind...taped the spine (it looks like it has never been honed) two laps on the 4000, five laps on the 8000...already popping hairs!...10 laps with no pressure on .5 micron on a balsa strop.

This mornings shave was surreal...at first I thought it was not cutting hair...then I realised it was cutting so smoothly I almost could not feel it...I think I am besotted with this little jewel.

...now to find a twin and get Vlad to make a cased pair for me
