Well a couple days ago I finally sat down with a set of Nortons (1-4-8) and an unremarkable razor I had cleaned up and fitted with brand new scales to attempt my first honing. To add to the difficulty, the razor has a very slight smile. By the end it felt sharp and could cut arm hair but it could not pass the HHT.

I figured I would give it the shave test this morning and found that was very hard to accomplish... Mainly because skin stretching is hard when you're grinning like a dope at the great feeling of a sharp razor making that toast scraping sound as I removed the weekends growth.

A lightbulb clicked on when I realized this was also an confirmation of my stropping technique, which I was never fully sure I was performing correctly on my other honemeister sharpened razor.

Here is the razor in question before I had completed restoring it: the sterling razor works that I posted down the page a bit.

Thanks for reading and have a great week!
