Default DragonCon - "The Noble Razor: Cold steel on Hot lather"

So, we had a little Science Fiction/Fantasy Convention here in Atlanta over the Labor Day holiday. Just about 65,000 people in attendance to enjoy a ton of famous folks from TV/Movies, attend panel discussions learning all kinds of things, take a ton of pictures, dress in costumes, and party until the early morning hours.

In the "Alternative Timeline/History Track," there was a panel discussion on wet shaving - brought to you by yours truly under my pseudonym "Dr. Mike."
The organizers thought it would be a nice addition to the track to teach people the "way to shave like a proper gentleman/lady." Old school

I did my best to represent Straight Razor Place in proper form, offering information on the history of shaving, our noble tools (straights/DE's/Brushes/etc), as well as explaining why this is THE way to shave.

The panel was well attended with many people asking great questions, and really being enthusiastic.

I was there! Dragon*Con was fun, as always, and your panel was delightful: Entertaining, enjoyable, and way too short!

I'm a DE shaver myself, not having built up the nerve for straight razor shaving,YET, but I enjoyed the history, and of course learning about some soaps that I did not know about.

For the record: using a Merkur 34C as my daily driver, and I have a Merkur Futura as well. Proraso is my go to soap for daily needs, a best badger brush, and Geo F. Trumper Extract of Limes Skin Food for aftershave.

Thanks to you, I'm considering a Dirty Bird scuttle!

Why thanks! Very jealous of the Merkur Futura... If we do this talk again, I will probably leave off the history and dive right in! Good times indeed!

Hey Mike! I am glad to hear that it went well. I wish I could have been there with you and see the whole presentation. I can't wait to get filled in on the particulars.

Magistos - We have got to get you converted. Probably have another meet up here in Atlanta after the first of the year. Keep looking.
