Thanked: 0Northern Vermont - honing sessions anyone?
Hey fellow (hopeful) Vermonters.
I am trying to get a small group together with an experienced person who has successfully honed razors before --- anyone in northern VT who would be willing to lead?
I've watched about every video on youtube and read about every thread here but I still cannot get hairs to pop off the 4k Norton. Can hardly get them to pop off the 8k also ...
Anyone interested?

You want to be aiming to pop hairs off your arm with a 1k. You must not have established a proper bevel.
Fly me out and I'll demo for ya :P
Seriously though, good luck with your quest.

Thanked: 4Hey, sorry it's not in response to your post, but I'm a fellow Vermonter! Just wanted to say hey. Any luck finding more Vermonters here?

Thanked: 0Hey,
Here's one more Vermonter(transplant) that wants to get in on the action! I'm new and haven't started honing yet, but have most of the equipment I need. Just bought Lynn's DVD and am ready to start!
If we can't find a honemeister in Vermont, maybe we can get someone in Montreal to come down, or take a field trip up there? I just had two razors honed by Floppyshoes(Dan). Just waiting for them to arrive in the mail now.

Hah, not quite Boston, but close enough. How far is northern Vermont from RI? lol You guys got good a ridiculously nice place for my girlfriend and I to stay at and the same in paid-for high quality meals? Preferably some interesting fare rather than "burgers" or whatever. Oh, and a box of maple sugar candies please.

Thanked: 0Yeah,
Philadelph you're like 4 hours away from Burlington, so I doubt you'd want to make that trek. Plus, it sounds like most of us up here are students(or in my case, the spouse of a student), so I don't think our accomodations are up to your high standards!!

Thanked: 3795D*mn! I'm sorry. I had it in my head you were from Boston because I got your location mixed up with Seraphim's. Maybe you could drive up to Boston and then he could drive the both of you up to Vermont!
I'm sorry for the confusion.
An aside: I went to college in Boston and I wish I got back there more often to visit friends.
