I count 15 plus a few wives and girlfriends (shall they never meet) and 5 people hoping to come.
I count 15 plus a few wives and girlfriends (shall they never meet) and 5 people hoping to come.
And Valentine's Day will be happening during this gathering so plan ahead guys!
The key phrase is "how can I make it up to you?"
I'm bringing mine, she wants to go to Houston if I remember right while we are there, so I may be gone the 14th.
I am definitely coming to this shindig unless something stupid happens between now and then.
So, how many have said that they will be there, regardless of whether they actually show up or not?
Well, start at post #1 and start counting!
Bluesman just wrote that he counted 15 in post 161 today.
I do not know the count, Randy has a better idea than me.
I am just trying to make my shop look acceptable-ish.
Remember, it is cold in my shop, no heating, dress warm, especially your feet the concrete sucks the heat out of you.
Also if you are driving, bring a chair if you can, seating will be in demand.

I'll start the mega-doses of Vitamin C now!
This will be my second go around, my first there were only a few of us:

This was the "Second Annual" IIRC.
I did order a stick of O-1, 1"x0.250, from Flatground on the 22nd just for this meet. Hoping to go to my old Church friends (he is 87) house sometime this week to buy his 2x72 grinder. One of those "you don't know what to expect" things, could be a goldmine or bust.
Scraped off, and shellaced, work bench today, I knew there was a clean surface under all that.

Is it wrong to have workbench envy?
Ha!
I have building envy. That thing is many times bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. Charlie could set up a few businesses and still have room for a church in there.
Charlie, as I said before I am bringing my razor collection for guys to look at. Is there a safe place that I can set them up? There will be six display cases full of razors. From what I am seeing the place is pretty big but was just checking.
There will be a burgundy suburban or white outback parked outside, in the back would be just fine:rofl2:
Randy thought I should bring my microscope/TV combo for honing so I will need a table for that in a clean area. I may be able to stash a table in Randy's car or in 32T's truck.
If it's needed I can bring a small fold out table , I think it's 3x3. Tc
Ok I,m good for the small card table just got another table, one of the 5'x2'. Fold ups I,m bringing both. Tc,,
Well down here it's not snowed in, but my Rv is over in Texas so I,m picking it up to bring back home.
I will try to remember to bring one too, will be on the bottom of the pile.
The weather forecast for Feb 11 is 60 degrees ! :)
Ya it's looking pretty good now , but Texas has a way of biting you pretty quick. Tc
Less than two weeks till Texas!
Just picked this up from the wonderful old man I go to church with. I only plugged it in to make sure it works. It weighs a TON! I'll bring it along so we can have more than just Charlie's grinder. I'll play with it to see if we can get to the 8" wheel for hollows, but even if we can't, we will have something for profiling and free hand work.
Shop our G1015 - Knife Belt Sander / Buffer at Grizzly.com
Also got this guy, but don't know much about them: Robot Check
I think Randy (via 32T) is bringing a grinder, and I am under the impression that Bluesman is also bringing one.
Hopefully Reddy Kilowat will coperate :)

My main grinder is 220V with a vfd & all Charlie has is 120v plugs about the shop.
How many grinders do you guys think we should have available? Mine (the one I could bring) is just an 8" wheel on the shaft of a 1725rpm motor, so really only good for pre-HT. I believe it needs 14 amps for start up according to the motor.
I am bringing some of my meager belt selection and thinking of buying a few more. What would you guys recommend? [2x72"}
