Regrettably I cannot make it, If I was going honing, hones and razors would be the main attraction for me besides meeting the ladies and gentlemen of this forum in person.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Yes, a webcast is just about mandatory... It'd be cool to have the chat be dedicated to RazorCon and designating some time for "Ask the Honemeister" or something like that. And it'd be great if the two were at the same time, so we can ask questions and have them answered on the webcast and actually demonstrated.

(Of course, you probably won't have the ability to have multiple live feeds, so if there are simultaneous demos, some need to just be taped and posted later.)

Which brings up another idea: Adding a tab for RazorCon related videos, topics, etc. like was done for the donations. It ought to make things easier to find for everyone. I imagine the whole thing is going to spark all sorts of discussions so that could be a good place to have new threads specifically about stuff that happened at RazorCon. Also, if there are any photos they should go there, too, especially photos and descriptions of any new or previously unseen hones. In the old videos you can see a table covered in hones in the background, but that's about it. (I think.) Maybe take a photo and get some details from whoever owns it. Later the hone/razor DB in the wiki can be updated even. I guess the same thing can be done for razors, too.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it either. I know, I know. You're all very disappointed...

Hey everyone just a few notes to help you all get to the convention and find everything without issue. The basic layout of the convention is as follows.

The Lab is a new brew pub that we really enjoy ad hope you will as well. You can find more info on the lab here Lexington Avenue Brewery - Downtown Asheville, NC. All food and drinks on Friday are your responsibilities .
Sat June 6th We will meet at 9 am at Trinity Baptist Church 216 Shelburne Rd. Asheville, NC 28806 those of you who have attended in years past know where this is and those who don’t should be able to find directions through Goggle. One Change is that we will not be in the gym building this year but will be moving to the basement of the church next door just look for the signs. We will be doing all Razor programming from 9am to 6 or 7pm and will include demos on pinning and scale production as well as lectures from key guests. We will serve a free lunch during the day. Addmission is free as always. Afterward we will meet at Wasabi Sushi House located at 19 Broadway St Asheville, NC 28801 for dinner. Drinks and socializing will follow at a location yet to be determined.
On Sunday June the 7th we will gather at noon at lake Julian for a free BBQ the Memu will include pulled pork, baked beans, slaw, Sausages, deviled eggs, buns, and whatever else I decide to make. This will go on as long as folks want to stay. If anyone plays music bring your instruments and we will probably have some jamming going on. The convention will be over when the last person leaves the BBQ.
As always we do not charge for the lunches or the BBQ we pay for everything with the monies raised in the raffles and through donations so please participate in raffles if you can or throw a dollar or two in the hat if you can but if not that’s all cool as well.
I look forward to seeing you all there.
    All the best
