    Default Honing Class?

Hello, I am a newbie and was wondering if there are any classes, lessons, meetings, etc. for learning how to hone properly in the NYC/Long Island area?

    Thank you

They use razors a lot down in Devil's Kitchen, but I'm not sure it's for shaving.

    Hey, Gap.
    .
What you're likely looking for happens at the regional meet-ups. Its been said you can learn more in a day than in 6 mo. of reading, study, practice. Having been to only one, I'd say its true. Noob or experienced, they're incredible for breaking through barriers in honing or other shaving obstacles. If the N'Yawkers have a regional meet - do your best to be there. Joed would be who I'd especially want to meet, learn from, but there's Holli4pirating & others that have ALOT of experience. I don't think you'd regret the time one bit.

I would just stay tuned to this portion of the forum (get togethers) and see when one comes up in your area. I think at just about every one of them honing is a topic that is discussed. Not to mention the more senior members with HAD will bring rocks that are way out of budget or difficult to find for the average enthusiast.

There are occasional meetups in ft lee nj for area members. The two I have attended have been great and there's lots to do, see, learn.

I've seen Bayamontate twice and he is a j-nat honing machine. He does razor after razor without fail.

I've had a couple of guys at my house in nearby jersy for honing/stropping lessons and that's worked out great too.

Your lucky, you now have several guys offering to meet up with you. Take them up on it, you will learn a lot in a short time and meet some really good people at the same time.

    Hello Gap
I have been trying to organize a meet-up in the Philadelphia area for April 27th, aka The MidAtlantic Meet-up. If you would like to join up and come, or join up forces and get something going together I would be happy to so. I will be somewhat mobile that Saturday, but that day only as I have other commitments and will be flying in from the west coast. let me know, Alx
