Thanked: 0Bumps on back of neck after shaving head! :(
Hello all,
I have been shaving my head with a bic razor for about 6/7 years now and from time to time after certain shaves (quite frequently) I develop really bad bumps at the back of my neck. They don't seem to be in grown hairs, they look and feel more like 'pimples'. I have tried using Tend Skin straight after shaving and it seems to help but sometimes the bumps just develop regardless. We are not talking about 1 or 2 small ones, I mean like 5 angry large painful bumps!
I usually shave my head in the shower and prepare well with a shaving soap and clean brush. I shave with the grain first and then against it afterward. When comes to the neck area and just above it where I get the bumps... I do not go against the grain at all, just with the direction of growth and thats it in an effort to not aggravate the skin. I finish off with cold water for a few minutes and then apply Tend Skin afterwards followed by a moisturiser.
I am kind of desperate for a solution as the bumps are unsightly and really affect my confidence, Sometimes I have to avoid shaving my head so I do not aggravate the existing bumps which is a real pain as I do not like my head being unshaven for work.
I could really do with any advice, recommendations or tips anyone may have please!
Also, has anyone had any experiences using an Alum block? I do not shave my face (just trim beard with clippers) so am new to the concept of one and how it could potentially help me? Thinking about buying one after reading about how it helps people post shaving their faces.
