Thinking About Shaving My Head With a Straight for Movember, any tips?

Hi,
I'm thinking about shaving my head with a straight for Movember. I've done it with a DE once before; and have been shaving with a straight for about two years.

Any tips, as in what sort of razor (wedge, full hollow) prep, etc? I want to do it by feel rather than a second mirror, and I'll use an electric trimmer to get really close (no, 1) first.

I never realized how much sweat hair soaks up until I shaved my head... Nevr do that again.. Icouldn't keep the sweat out of my eyes.

I don't think it matters what grind, just that it's sharp. In my experience (very little shaving my head with a straight), light touch, slow, and do a WTG pass first. With a straight you would think reduction would be the way to go IMO, just because of the resistance and it only takes one slip and your scalped........
I say this because I shave my head with a DE and make my first pass ATG, it just seemed to work for me. A straight I would need to do a WTG first just to much resistance with an open blade.
I don't use a mirror either, never have (for the back of my head/neck) Just go by feel.
Use Witch Hazel for A/S, I find that most aftershaves will leave my head oily by the end of the day and I don't have this problem with Witch Hazel

Edit: And as Wintchase said about the sweat, you'll need a headband or something, unless you have thick bushy eyebrowes

Let us know how it works out for you. Personally I still cringe when I only do the back of my neck with a str8. Good shaving.

What might be a good idea is to start with a handle like the Feather and a ProGuard Blade. The ProGuard is more forgiving as far as pressure and angle and also gives a good shave.

I wear a long mohawk and I shave my head every week just cause I like that Kojack look. Its really not a problem, though the wife needs to hit up the back for me so as to keep the lines straight.
I use a japanese shavet just cause head hair is tough on the edge ( at least mine is ).
Sure you know this but head nicks do bled something fierce at it could be a fun addition to any halloween
costumes you are planning .
