Another nice Lipshaw setup for sale!
Here we have a nice setup such as I use in my workshop for progressively stropping razors off the hones.
I also have one at home which I use quite frequently on my rotation.

An industrial, heavy-duty unit, the Lipshaw Microtome strop hearkens back to the day when microtomes were like a straight razor with one blade face completely flat in order to thinly slice tissue for microscopic study.
Newer versions of microtomes were mechanical, yet had removable blades which could be fitted with a handle in order to strop them on these heavy beasts as well.
A great strop for straight razors, the panels can be changed with the push of a button and easily flipped to a new surface with the pull and push of a lever. The strops lightly stretch on nice, thick felt for a great stropping sensation. All steel construction and industrial silver coating with a nice cover to protect the strops from dust, etc. Light dings and scratches, etc. Consumate with it's age.

This one features 6 panels for use in light maintenance to daily stropping with several draws for progressive stropping or giving that particular blade what it likes!

In the first pic, from the top down;

An original Lipshaw leather panel. Hard to find these oldies in this shape.
Thick cowhide or horsehide, not certain. Fairly heavy draw, A few shallow, light cuts, no flaps. Nothing to impede use. These benefit from 3 drops of leather conditioner, rubbed-in with the palm, on occasion due to their age. A small dropper container of Bick 4 conditioner shall be included for the purpose.
I used these for many years exclusively until I hit on making varieties of other panels. Good strop for right after linen for the heavy wedges and/or onto lighter-draw strops.
Also a great daily strop, esp for heavier grinds.

A panel of milled vegetable-tanned cowhide from the late Neil Miller.
A buttery-soft-stropping component, nice medium draw. Nice to use on this Lipshaw.

Another panel from Neil Miller. I totally forget what this one is, but thin-shelled slick black hide, very smooth with extremely light draw.
Great for finish-stropping of thinly-ground blades.

A sweet-stropping vintage pigskin panel, NOS from Tripoli Barber Supply in Philly.
Think of pigskin, you think of the pebbled finish of a football, yet this hide is extremely lightly-grained.
In my opinion this thin panel strops super-smooth and is VERY effective as in the one I use, exactly like it.
In fact, I really like vintage pigskin in a strop, period.

A true 'secret weapon' an original Lipshaw 'diamond' sharpening panel. I doubt seriously there is any diamond there. Could be?
Hard to find in this great condition, it was used opposite the leather to lightly sharpen the microtome blade before hitting the leather side.
Slightly bumpy, it really refreshes the edge much as a CroOx-pasted strop would, only lighter, IMO.
I keep my razors going for years and years with a few swipes on occasion.

Lastly, a panel made of woven linen fire hose. Great daily pre-strop before leather.

The prongs on the strop-holders have been tuned to properly accept the leathers on the marked side B.
Side A is set up for the linen and diamond strops.

This one is in a bit better nick than the last one sold, yet a bit older version as it has the wooden base. With 6 panels it is priced at 500.00 with conus shipping included.
In the case of other shipping, I have learned it is about 40 dollars to send this heavy beast Conus using priority mail, so in other locations, anything over 40 dollars US will need to be paid by the buyer. We will work that out as-necessary.
I prefer a Postal money-order, but Paypal will suffice if necessary.
