Thread: Select grade Coticule 6" X 2" for razors

I bought this about 6 months ago at The Perfect Edge recommended by Howard himself for $170. It is a select grade coticule for razors. Coticule material is 11mm thick and the blue slate below is 9.5mm thick bringing the entire stone to 20.5mm thickness.
I have used it to touch up only 3 razors recently and get fantastic results. Basically brand new, no coticule slurry stone included but I will include a piece of light green thuringian that you can use successfully instead. Works very very well. But, I spend more time with my jnats so this one has to go to someone who can enjoy it's capabilities. This coticule has been lapped flat and has a mirror finish.
I do not know the vein this comes from but it is pretty fast with slurry and does not seem to create any slurry with water only. So that means it is fairly hard which is a good thing especially when it comes to razors. This one produces a nice and fine shaving edge off the last progression of water only.
