New attitude about lapping plate
I am a longtime user of the DMT 220 and 325 grit diamond plates for lapping my stones. However, after reading some recent threads about the ATOMA diamond plates, I found it necessary to try the ATOMA 400. Very impressive plate. So then, a month later I also bought the ATOMA 1200 plate. Very good purchase.
I am well into my fourth DMT 325 plate and this is what told me I need a change. It seems the ATOMA plates are somewhat faster and I like that. They are certainly lighter when lapping under the old faucet. Aluminum is definitely lighter than steel. At my age , this is a plus.
The switch from DMT to ATOMA is a wise move. Don't hesitate if you feel a change is necessary. It's just another level of HAD. Go for it!!!!!!!!!!
