On the first picture it seems to look like a natural, probably a thuringian, it says a brass base...
I think the package does not fit to the stone ...could be though the rubber is missing....but keep us updated on this one....

Hey Dennis, iam not shure though about the thuringian thing, shurely a nice stone but just from looking at the pics thats not my vote...any Sawmarks visible on the sides ? Can you make a detail shot of the corner where a part is broken out or its due to natural structure (Schist) ?
You should compare it to the one you will get....having then both stones together it might be better for you personal to come to a conclusion...having two turingians in your own hand you will be able to identify....

Mhh definately a type of Schist i would say...interesting is the colour pattern on the surface....
Just from looking at the pictures the surface (both on the sides and on the lapped side) looks a bit more coarse then i would think a thuringian should look, but thats not a proper evaluated statement just a interpretation from me....
There was a post here on SRP about thuringian stones from Hatzicho were a picture of stones were shown suffering from "Mehlstein"...as there is this kind of brown green area in the last picture this just reminded me on the thread....

Red dots, green colour ? Never seen a thuringian with red dots
What are the smaller points in the surface ? Looks like when looking in detail on a coti....
