Zulu grey is here

My Zulu grey arrived today. I was a bit worried because I had moved right before it shipped, but it arrived with no issue. Haven't gotten a chance to use it yet as most of my razors are still back in TN and the ones I have here don't need a stone at this moment. Look forward to using it when the rest of my razors show up. It is a very nice looking and feeling with just a small impurity on the bottom.

If you like an edge like I do, you will love the Zulu. Lots of ways to use it. I lapped both sides of mine. One I leave at a DMT 325 finish and use with a slurry for lots of strokes off of an 8k. The other side I "polished" with a dry square of 1500 wet dry paper after lapping for a mirror like finish. I use that side with water only after my 16k for 50 or so laps. Either way it's great. For now, I prefer it to the edge produced by my dark blue escher, but that may be due to lack of experience. Either way, good luck with it.

I couldn't tell you how to use it .,,I sent mine to Glen to figure it out , but the edges he has sent to me from it are really smooth,, but then again I think he could make a shave ready blade with an old boot and some sand! your going to like your Zulu tc

The part about this that is so great is that Glen will master it, and will probably then make a video with it that we can all watch and learn. Glen is a great guy and thanks for loaning it to him so he can later teach us all. I know I'm being presumptuous but Glen's track record dictates that he will share what he learns with all of us, as I know he has spent hours on the phone with me answering my questions.

I sold my first Zulu and subsequently ordered a second Zulu. Got notice that it is sitting in the post office waiting for me to pick it up today. I'll give it another try...........

Sent my Genco Honor, square point to Glen and got a more comfortable edge from the Zulu than the Shapton.

This is how I use my Zulu now a days. It gives very good edges whether off the 8k or 16k. A little slury takes care of the suction and for that last water only, I like the smith honing solution or that drop of dish water soap.
