I have had twenty or more of these hones, They are mostly equivalent to around 6k, some a bit lower some a bit higher. Not fast cutters and the scratch pattern is a bit coarse - for instance a lower grit BBW leaves a more polished bevel than a moughton.
Depending on how the stone is cut, the lines are either straight (ish) or very curvilinear:
They do tend to have cleavage lines in one direction, so inspect the edges. A small hairline cleavage crack is fine, though.
