    Default hone ID help

    Hi guys.

    Can anyone help id this hone. It's 1.8" wide, 7.8" long and 0.5 deep. It seems hard. Name:  thumbnail-9.jpg

    Could be a slate type, can you post some more daylight pictures ?

    I'll add some with more natural lighting soon. I'm not sure it is skate though. It's very dark in colour, I always thought all varieties of slate had at least a hint of purple through to it?

    There are all variants of slate beeing red, brown, violet, dark black to grey, green....

    Lol. I wouldn't be upset at all. I put a few razors on it after my 8k Norton and it has improved the edge. Fairly slow, but highly polished bevel.
