Very nice indeed, have made many, quality boxes as above are not easy to make.
... a couple additional questions ...
What material do you use to inhibit slipping? I see the surface that reads "supersliders" -- what's that and where can one find it?
Also, do you need to provide drainage of any sort out the bottom to allow slurry and water to drip out while you are honing (I assume that you hone while the stone is in-box -- is that correct, or do you take them out to hone?)?
Thanks for the kind words guys.
@trifle, I hand hone so I always take my stones out of the box when I'm using them. That super slider stuff is just some foam padding that I purchased from lowes to protect the stone if I decide to travel with it.
With my cotis when I'm finished I just wipe them down and put them away. With jnats or thuris I always let them dry overnight before putting them in the box and back into the safe.
So I'm guessing you would recommend against honing with them in-box? Too much moisture? I'm wondering if drilling some holes on the bottom surface could facilitate drainage -- along with leaving the top lid off for enough time to allow drying to occur.
If you want to hone with the stones in the box i don't see any reason not too. You'd probably need a better finish than what I use. I'm not sure what to recommend for that but I'm sure a google search would turn something up.
