Hi Vasilis, maybe this year you can get enough of the razor stones out into the world that the mine owner will see that there is a worldwide demand for those finishers? $$ in His pocket does change attitudes.
Getting some stones for sale in the US might get the ball rolling, perhaps with the Gent's on this site? Lynn and SRD?
My friend, you seem to be worried about my Chinese lady, but don't, she shaved me flawlessly last night. ;) I finished her on a Coticule this time, since the blue stone was with a friend of mine. Today I took it back, so I'm going to run a few razors over it and see what I get.
Hi SRDJAN, how did your honing come out? I just got the test stones last night, and must say, I am impressed with both the Cretan and the more finishing Razor stone the "Vermio". When I get the testing done I will write up the critique of all my impressions and findings, but, I can tell you now that these are exciting stones and they have unique properties that will make them sought after as much as Coticules and Eschers, my opinion so far.
I've been a little too busy to do a proper write-up, but as promised in my previous post, I've taken the Cretan Blue back and rehoned the same Gold dollar. I was very happy with the results and so I took a proper razor, my EKS Gold krone and did a quick refresh session, using the blue Cretan and Vermio. Then I took a few Sheffield wedges and did the same. That night, a few days ago, I shaved with 3 different razors .. I think that's a personal best.
I shaved off of both hones, they both gave me great hht results and quality shaves. Vermio edge is what I call "scary sharp", after you've used a bit of glycerine on it. I am not sure if that's even needed, but hey... I like to have the option.
They are worthy hones, that are not leaving my home any time soon.
Now this is the finest and hight quality Cretan that i owned over the years . it is an old stock stone , naturaly broken from the layer , never sawn .
It has skinn , like the Jnats on the one side . It a litle bit slower than the coarsest ones but for its psrticle size it is fast .
Size is 17 x 6 sm witch is near 7 x 2.5 inches and near 2 inch thick

That is a very good looking stone Rusen, would you tell us how you use that stone the best?

Well i have it for a 10 days and i try it on 2 razors . The stone was used long time with oil so i guess i will use the one side with watter on slurry and on the other side with oil or watter with soap or dish washing detergent
I put some oil so you can see the colors =It is very fine , the slurry is coticule like . Amazing stone and you can shave off it , but as im used on very fine finishers i guess that it will be a fine prefinisher in my progretion

Experinmenting with my light grey Cretan Hone for bevel setting.
In the picture the stone is wet and appears much darker, dry it's almost white.
have heared that the darker the cretan hone the finer it is...

Using it with thick creamy slurry created by another small light grey cretan "nagura".
Seems like the slurry does break down while working.
The hone leaves nice hazy bevel and invites proceeding with "jnat hazy-progression" :)

Have given a try of the Cretan hone following by jnat today.
After the worked down slurry on Cretan rock I went directly to Ohzuku Asagi with tomo nagura skipping the mikawa nagura progression.
Needed to refresh the slurry 2 times and the razor was ready for the test shave (tomorrow).
