A Charnley? Or something else?
I've been wondering about this hone for a while. I've had it for several years I think, and I use it as a final finisher. It's fine, slow and puts a nice edge on my razors, but I'm unsure about its identity.
I think it may be a Charnley Forest hone, because it resembles them in a lot of ways, but the dimensions and colour make me wonder if it is something else. It's bluer than my other Charnleys.
The dimensions are about 22cm X 4.25cm X 2.2cm. That's about 8.5" x 1.75" x 15/16".
There are saw marks on the side as well. The surface doesn't look as dense as some of my Charnleys, but it still puts a fine edge on a blade.
What do you guys think? Charnley? Can't say? Or something else?
The last pic shows it next to a confirmed Charnley.

It's interesting to see all the various hues and textures that these stones have. Of course, they also work differently, though I wonder how much that has to do with how well they're smoothed out.
Anyway, 4 Charnleys for me. I think that's enough (though those large ones Modine showed here are cool too). :)
Here are mine (the 3 on the left)....i always think its fantastic how different these stones can look in color, pattering and their generel appearance

Yeah thanks....a long time until the last year i also thought its not an Llyn Idwall....but i was convinced it is one....
I begin to love those stones....they work quite well and fast with a slurry created....a bit comparable to the Bavarian Frankonian Stone
You can feel the difference in creating a slurry and honing with slurry on the stone....also the stones are less fine then CF....
Here is a comparison i did for the Idwalls:
