    Default Droescher history wondering

Now this is just guess work based on info and I remember reading on a thread about the Hohenzollern hones with someone who was researching them that they thought Droescher imported them till around 1901. Then finding this info made me curious about the dates on my boxed one here.
So in looking up more on Severin Robert Droescher I find some info that leads me to think that the dates for razor hone import may be different than what I see others have for dates. Others have 1891 to 1924. I see that he did not settle in Cranford until 1901 buying the mill after that and I would think that the start of WWI would have stopped imports from Germany in say 1917.

I figure he probably did hone import before 1901, but would they have been boxed and labeled like the ones from the mill?
I just like to narrow down the years for my own info on things that I have and was wondering if this info would give me more of a 16 year range than a 33 year range for my thuri.

I wonder if Droescher didn't import the Hohenzollern hones till around 1901 then started on the ones we see in these paper boxes once the mill was bought.

I got this info from here.

Also my guess on the color of my new Droescher thuringian is Blue/Green. What do you think?

All that is guessing because iam quite sure you wont find any evidence in detail, or only with a good portion of luck....
What i can tell you doing my researches is that all the old companies already had some complicated structures, owning subsidiaries in New York and probably London....and most of the companies had several changes of their names during their existence...

Escher is quite difficult, F.G.B.C. (F. Ghelfi, Birroleau & Cie.) and for sure also Droescher will be no easy topic....

What might help you, that from documented sources Droscher already had a cooperation with Ghelfi, it was called "Ghelfi & Droescher" at 58 Warren Street, NY. The source is from 1891. But now comes the interesting thing, the source mentions a takeover from the Stock of "Ghelfi & Droescher" from Mr. Chas. J. Healy...so you might agree that they had their business before already....
