I deleted the OP's post for the 4 letter word, and the follow up because it 'quoted' the post with the offensive word. If anyone doesn't think 4 letter words are offensive feel free to use them at home, at work, in school, or wherever you like, but not on SRP. Thanks in advance for your understanding.
Thought we had that sorted? As it is.
Sorry about that...

Its an Escher...and yes there are types of "black eschers", just chime in there...
Looks like an original Escher label. I have posted some infos on this Escher&Co label here:

Could be a dark blue one from the photos. Also black ones exist, mostly from the late period of the company after 1920'ths. They are much less common than the blue ones.
Eschers didn't come with their labels lacquered like that, it's recent thing people do to protect the collector's value of a stone. So I suspect the owner knows the value and doesn't raffle it off until the entry fees cover the stone's value.
One thing you know for sure is that it has a genuine escher label at least.
James.
Jimbo you making me paranoid there's people out there making fake vintage hone labels and sticking em on random rocks. has that happened to anyone?
