Kidding aside Jerry, I've no idea about that coticule. Never saw on like it. Someone may be along though.

Side shots of the hone would be helpful. The dark dots remind me or La nouvelle vein.

Click on part 4 and scroll down until you see La nouvelle vein. Look closely at the picture of the surface.. may notice similar brown dots.

When the yellow is lapped, are the spots easily removed, to appear once again later, if left unused for a time?
Does it darken with exposure to the sun?
Was it mined in the neighborhood of cow pastures ? :rolleyes:
