Thread: Anyone have a rock similar?

Can't get the camera to pick it up but it is purple and purple slurry. It's definitely not bbw and it's harder than any lorraine I have ever encountered. It also has banding and swirling all over the stone which pick up strongly in the light. Stone glitters in the light. No tactile difference in feel between the visual changes on the surfaces. Put up a mild fight to lap. If you put a drop of water on the surface and wipe it off after a time, the ghost of it flashes off the surface quickly.

Tried to get color to show up better

A good method for color is to put the stone onto white paper, and draw a rainbow (or just marks of each color) in the frame. Then, if needed, you or the viewer or the photo can play with the image coloring until the marked colors look correct. Then again, it the rock hounds on here, your photos may be sufficient.

How did you acquire the stone? Do you know the area of origin?

it almost sounds like the purple/red part found in many CFs. Though, I've never seen one like this!

Yeah I bought this from Florida. Was in an ancient bit of wood. Not a cf. Idk what it is besides really interesting.
