Suehiro Stones
There’s probably a few of you, us, who know of the Suehiro Gokumyo. A great series of ceramics ranging in grits from 600, to the cherished 20,000.

It was the 20K that had me visiting thier site, looking at thier stones when I ran into thier dual stone series.

I threw down about ¥16,800 ($150USD) and got the holder, the 800/6,000 combo, and the 500 grit diamond. Considering the stones are only ~ 6” x 2”, that’s not exactly free. But it’s not bad either. The fact that I absolutely don’t need em is what makes them so expensive lol!
But that’s the thing. A ceramic that’s so dense you can use oil on it? The 20K can wait.
The rumor is that the stones grits are correct, but act more fine. Who knows? They do have larger stones up to 8K which would be better suited for honing razors, but I though I’d try these small ones in the kitchen and on pocket knives first. If I don’t like em, I can always give it to some freshly minted kitchen aficionado.
Truth is, I’m just fascinated by these stones! The description baffled me and amazed. I had to see.
Anyone know anything about them - I probably should have asked before buying lol.
