Looks like a Ark. Give it a soak in hot water and laundry soap, or degreaser.

I have never seen one that color discolored from age or are there arks that color came in a wood box. Seller said he had it for 35 years or so and it was old when he got it.

Yes, oils and swarf can discolor them, especially things like ATF which I have heard of people using as lube. Also it could just be that color. Here is a small soft Ark I have that came this color.

Flatten and lap that bad boy and see what it'll do. That is the real test.

I is soaking right now but I washed it off and gave a pocket knife a few laps and it is close to a translucent. Should I lap I with anything finer than 320 wet dry??

I knew I had one. Almost identical to yours.

The pic is of the butterscotch Washita, and a med hard Ark.

I would try it there and see how it works, what kind of scratch pattern it leaves. It looks fairly dense. You can also sort of judge by the weight assuming it's not glued on a block. Finer stones are heavier.
W/D laps smoother than SIC powder so 320 is going to be pretty smooth. Mystery stones involve a lot of trial and error. But the lapping itself will reveal a lot about the character. To me it looks like a midrange stone which is good, they are harder to find among Arks than those at either end.
