Not to worry, my friend. As a special favour to you, I'll take yours off you for say 50 bucks a pop. Can't say fairer than that - I'm losing $11 per stone on the deal!
James.
Are they usually that thin? 3/4" down to 1/4"?
I will wait for the review
I of course would pay an obsurd amount for one of your vintage Eschers. Just let me know!
some of the sizes seem a little impractical.
These are not Eschers but very fine Thuringians. By calling them Eschers Timber Frame Tools want to capitalize on Eschers' popularity.
Read this from their site:
and you'll see they know f**k all about Eschers. The honing particles of Eschers are garnets as everyone knows who owns an Escher and a mike and took time to look at the slurry under magnification.Quote:
"Escher stone is pure powder-like quartz, embedded in chalk, which gives it its slurry activity. Rubbing its small sister stone over the surface will quickly raise an active quantity of dust, add water and you have a slurry, which some users prefer."
Timber Frame World source their "Eschers" from MST: http://www.mst-mueller.de/. Click "Neue Produkte". Nowhere on MST's site is Escher mentioned.
All Eschers are Thuringian hones but not all Thuringian hones are Eschers.
