All you guys who thought you couldn't afford an Escher, check out this.
Hopefully this might bring the ebay prices down a bit....

Thanked: 1587Not to worry, my friend. As a special favour to you, I'll take yours off you for say 50 bucks a pop. Can't say fairer than that - I'm losing $11 per stone on the deal!

These are not Eschers but very fine Thuringians. By calling them Eschers Timber Frame Tools want to capitalize on Eschers' popularity.
Read this from their site:
"Escher stone is pure powder-like quartz, embedded in chalk, which gives it its slurry activity. Rubbing its small sister stone over the surface will quickly raise an active quantity of dust, add water and you have a slurry, which some users prefer."
Timber Frame World source their "Eschers" from MST: http://www.mst-mueller.de/. Click "Neue Produkte". Nowhere on MST's site is Escher mentioned.
All Eschers are Thuringian hones but not all Thuringian hones are Eschers.Last edited by Kees; 02-07-2008 at 08:02 PM.
